During last summer vacation, I thought that it might be nice to try a sunscreen cushion for touching up the sun protection during the day and therefore I decided to go with the Aprilskin Magic Snow Sun Cushion in a first test which was provided to me for reviewing purpose by StyleKorean. Aprilskin is a Korean natural cosmetics brand which was raved a lot about during last year, especially for their cushion foundation. The brand is fairly young and was founded in 2014, but since then has won a numerous amount of prizes for their products. All though I love cushions I didn’t buy ny of their raved cushions and so I was happy to be asked by StyleKorean and be able to choose a product from this brand. I decided for the Aprilskin Magic Snow Sun Cushion. The Aprilskin Magic Snow Sun Cushion is an ultra-lightweight sunscreen that comes in a cushion compact. It is mildly formulated, making it suitable for children and adults according to the description. Furthermore, it doesn’t leave a white cast and yet has SPF 50+ /PA+++. The UV-protection is mineral based and still, it claims to leave no white traces. As you know, sun protection has to be renewed from time to time, but I personally am quite a lazy person. I discovered that I hardly ever touch up my sun protection on my skin and a cushion would make that far easier than a tube. The Aprilskin Magic Snow Sun Cushion comes packed in a cardboard box in a light pink color. The cushion compact itself has also a nice pink pattern on the lid and looks really feminine. The description on the cardboard box is only in Korean, but Aprilskin’s official site offers an English translation, too. Frankly, I’m no sunscreen expert. The field is so complex and until now I never had the time to really go deep into the topic. The product description says, that this cushion only uses physical sunscreen. I spot already two chemical sunscreens from looking at the list Octinoxate Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate and Avobenzone Butyl Methoxydibenzoylmethane….mh…that’s the first disappointment … Checking the other sunscreens I spot that Octocrylene and Diethylamino Hydroxybenzoyl Hexyl Benzoate Uvinol A Plus are chemical sunscreens, too. Commonly used physical sunscreens are Titanium Dioxide and Zinc Oxide, but I do not spot any of these here. I’m quite confused…is this product using physical sunscreens at all?! Inside the cushion compact is the typical application sponge. In order to use the sunscreen cushion, you dab the application puff on the cushion sponge until the product is transferred. Then you dab the puff on your face in a patting motion. Don’t smear or rub it on the skin. Of course, the cushion compact comes with a mirror inside the lid, too, so it is perfect for carrying around and use it while not at home, too. Unlike cushion foundations, the sponge in the compact is not soaked with BB Cream or Foundation, but with sunscreen. Therefore the color of the sponge is white. The sunscreen has a creamy consistency. It gives a visible glow to the skin but doesn’t leave any white cast. While applying it on the skin I can feel a cooling effect of the product. The scent of it is also flowery/fresh. It contains some plant-based ingredients like Lavandula, chamomile, and tea tree oil, which create the scent of the product. I didn’t have any problems with the application of the product and it also can be touched up and layered without any further problems. Aprilskin Magic Snow Sun Cushion has a nice texture and finish, but I’m disappointed that it is not a physical sunscreen as it states on their page. I personally am not someone who refuses any chemical sunscreens, but I prefer it if the description of products are correct. As I said, I’m no sunscreen expert, so if there is anyone who can explain more about the chemicals used here I would be happy to hear about it. Let me know in the comments or write me an email/PN. Oh, and since some of the chemical sunscreens may have effects on hormones and hormonal pathways I would not use this sunscreen on children, despite its mild formulation. Believe it or not, this is my first time to use a cushion compact. My sensitive skin still isn’t ready for makeup, so I’ve been trying to avoid using any – even foundation – as much as possible. The truth is, some makeup is actually beneficial for skin. This hope of improving my complexion, plus the fact that I do need to wear makeup for certain occasions – like a wedding, for instance – overpowered my worries so I decided to try the very popular Magic Snow Cushion SPF50+ PA+++ from APRIL SKIN. This new version launched in September last year. So what’s the difference between this and the original? I regret to tell you that I haven’t tried the original so I can’t compare. Online reviews stated the following differences 1. The puff changed from beige to black. 2. The original refill is bigger and thus not compatible with version 3. Version is more buildable. 4. Version has better oil control properties. The latest product features a pearlescent black case with golden lettering. Like all other cushion compacts, it contains a built-in mirror and a puff holder that separates the puff from the cushion. The new case ensures the compact is airtight by automatically closing the puff holder when you close the cover There’s a clicking sound when you do so. However, the size is larger than I expected so I probably won’t be carrying it around in my bag. The compact is roughly the size of my palm. Remember to remove the protective film from the mirror. Each new product is sealed with a white sticker to prevent it from drying. The foundation is sandwiched between two layers of sponges. After removing the white sticker, there’s an intact white cushion. The foundation is released only when pressed to keep it hygienic. Refills can be purchased separately. The puff holder can only stay at two positions. Every new product is sealed with a white sticker to prevent it from drying. Use 2 or 3 fingers to hold the puff. I wonder if the case and puff are black for the sake of making it look more hygienic. To me, there really isn’t much difference between black and white because smudges will still be visible on either color. If you’re OC about these things, I’m afraid you’ll have to wipe your case from time to time. But of course, a black case and puff look sleek and stand out from the rest. While the cushion looks almost the same, the puff is less rubbery compared to others I’ve seen. It feels more spongy but is still refined and picks up foundation rather easily. The foundation has a high coverage so a slight dab with the puff already goes a long way. I basically just need 2-3 dabs from the cushion to hide all my blemishes I do have a lot of acne scars!. The texture is a bit powdery on my dry skin so I have to use a moisturizing primer. I love that it doesn’t feel too cakey, tacky or heavy, and also has a buildable texture, making it easier to control coverage. It also gives a soft glow without looking greasy, which I appreciate. There’s a slight floral and powdery fragrance. Textures of the cushion and the puff The 45% water-based formula is infused with mineral water, blueberry and aloe extracts to keep skin moisturized, and niacinamide for whitening. The foundation stays put fairly well, and is able to last me for a day even without the use of loose powder, moisturizing mist or touchups of any other kind. It also has high sun protection SPF50+ PA+++, using zinc oxide and titanium dioxide as physical UV blockers. Ingredient list and safety instructions My problem is with the shade. Being Chinese, I have medium skin tone with a slight yellow undertone I use N4 of L’Oreal’s True Match foundation. Like most Korean cushion compacts, Magic Snow Cushion is only available in 3 shades 21, 22 and 23 which are light beige, pink beige and natural beige, respectively. The one I chose is 23, which is the darkest but it’s still too bright for my complexion. It also has a pink undertone which doesn’t suit my skin. I’ve been spending some time working out finances for my upcoming trip to Korea and… well, accidentally on purpose making some purchases on Gmarket. For now though, I’m going to restrain myself from spending for the next three weeks until I’m abroad. This is all the more reason to really dive into my reviews and talk about the wonderful things I’ve been trying lately. So, without further ado, here’s my review of April Skin’s Magic Snow Cushion Pink! This is one of their new cushions with a super improved packaging and logo design and comes in four colours, three of which are colour correcting bases. I was really excited to try this and received it at the same time as the original cushion from StyleKorean. Compared to the white cushion, I definitely think that this rose gold case is a lot prettier and the holographic lettering is really eye-catching. So I got this cushion in their 03 purple shade, which is meant to brighten up my overall skin tone. I’ll talk more about the different colours that they have later though because, first off, I want to talk about how ridiculously pretty this packaging is. I love that the design isn’t over the top and their logo which has thankfully been refreshed since the original now has a very modern, and maybe even high end feel. The rose gold finish is already really eye-catching, so I like that they’ve stepped back and allowed it to really take the reigns’. The box still has the same emboss print from before, so it’s nice that the two tie in. There is also a holographic sticker on the back which is meant to be for differentiating real April Skin products from fakes but, to be honest, these stickers are really easy to fake. I definitely recommend purchasing from a reliable seller or store since April Skin has become so popular recently that there are probably a lot of fakes out. Please don’t buy make up from Aliexpress. Please. Really. From what I can see, even though the two cushion cases look like they’re the same in shape from the outside, they actually very different and the refills are not interchangeable. This new case is pretty sturdy and the lid locks in nicely but, unlike the original, doesn’t really click when it’s closed and the cushion or the refill’ is actually a lot harder to get out. Overall, even though this new cushion case is a lot prettier, I think that I preferred the make of the original. Both of them have the same foam-like cushion that pressed against the puff lid though – that was one thing I had hoped they would improve. Both have the same amount of product and SPF, so I would really consider them two different products, not just a new cushion’. Those are the four colours that the cushion comes in! The beige is the most generic base tone, though I do think they should have released them as a normal BB cushion with proper shades. The others all target different types of skin correcting – Purple to correct yellow, sallow complexions; Pink for those with warm and fair skin tones; Green for those with a lot of redness and veins on their skin. For myself, I tossed up between the purple and the pink as I often really like pink bases that can give me a cooler and paler complexion. However, since I really do have a lot of issues with yellowness and sallow skin, I opted for the purple. My skin issues tend to be a lot worse during periods where I’m not sleeping enough – this has been fairly common lately because of work and trying to prepare blog posts for when I’m away in Korea! Compared to the original, this pink cushion sticks out more on top but also has a more sleek look – I’m not sure if this is because of the metallic finish or because of the shape. It comes with a pink puff cushion which is really cute; it seems to be pretty much the same as the original though which was also good. I have no issues with it here – the applicator is soft and easy to use. The product is protected with the usual sticker. In some Youtube videos well, in Liah Yoo’s she noticed a oily surface on the top of her puff lid and her protective sticker had come off. I didn’t have this issue though and the cushion was very appropriately sealed for me. The mirror is also a good size to use for touch ups. And there’s the sponge! I’ve been using the cushion really often and I still can’t seem to get the product to be evenly distributed throughout – the same problem I was having with the original. The product definitely doesn’t dispense as evenly and the sponge is also slightly raised, making it smear against the top. I really hope that April Skin improves on this in their next product. It is the first time I’ve seen this sort of quality of a BB cushion and I personally don’t think it works very well. Nevertheless, since the cushion is still pretty full, the product filled my sponge. You can see that it is really quite purple. The product doesn’t really have much coverage when it comes to blemishes, but is really effective in evening out my skintone. As you can see in the swatch below, the results are obvious. Because of the sheer formula, you can definitely put on a few layers of this product I usually do 2 – 3 targeting different areas and it won’t be cakey. The finish is a little bit dewy though still quite natural – I personally really like it. I’ve been using this cushion a lot more than I usually do! At first, I used my 3CE White Milk cushion quite a lot as a corrector but I actually prefer this one by April Skin. I think it’s more buildable and the formula is easy to blend as well. With the 3CE cushion I would usually use it with a BB cream on top but, for this one, I prefer to apply a few very light layers all over my face and then apply a higher coverage cushion I’ve been using the April Skin Magic Snow Cushion only in areas that need it. Both of the products blend together seamlessly to give me a finish that is both high coverage and natural by only covering what is needed. So what’s my verdict? Here it goes! SO WHAT IS IT? A sheer, buildable colour correcting BB cushion THE GOOD Sturdy compact Very beautiful and eye-catching design Buildable and light/natural finish Relatively moist finish Blends well with other BB cushions when applied Good sized mirror Easy to carry for travels THE BAD The lid doesn’t click’ The cushion presses against the plastic holder Foam cushion won’t dispense evenly Does not really cover blemishes Limited tones for the beige WOULD I REPURCHASE? Although there are quite a few negatives to this cushion, I think that their formula really does work well and has a nice finish so I’m very inclined to come back to it when I finish this one. In the future, I would also be interested in trying out their pink and beige cushion – mostly because I really want to know why they thought only one beige tone was needed. It’s also really pretty, let’s be real. Yes, would repurchase! HELPFUL TIP If you have amazing skin, then you really can just use this product by itself. otherwise, applying BB cream or concealer only in places where it’s needed will really help create a more natural finish – this is especially good or going to work or on early mornings when you don’t want to spend too much time covering up. As a habit, I usually do end up applying to my entire face, but I will often judge how heavy handed I have to be depending on my skin’s condition. Today, we’re giving our April Skin Magic Snow Cushion White review. What Is A Bb Cushion? BB Cushions are essentially cushions soaked in BB Cream inside a compact that come with their own applicator puff. They are one of the more recent makeup innovations to come out of South Korea, with technology that has been copied by western beauty companies, including Lancome and Dior. What Does It Do? April Skin’s Snow Cushion contains an SPF and claims to totally cover blemishes and imperfections without caking or flaking. It’s suitable for dry and combination skin types. What’s In It? Iceland Mineral water 60% – nourishes skin and has a beneficial effect on blood circulation, activating the process of blood renewal to help flush toxins. Propolis extract – an antioxidant that boosts skin’s immune system by soothing and promoting regeneration. Honey extract – rejuvenates skin by conditioning and moisturising it. Shades The April Skin Snow Cushion comes in 3 shades – 21 Light Beige – for ivory and very fair complexions, 22 Pink Beige – for skin with pink undertones and 23 Natural Beige – for lightly tanned complexions. The Verdict? This cushion is up there with the best. It does exactly what it claims on the packaging – covers blemishes, doesn’t cake or flake and gives you flawless looking skin. The coverage is high compared to other cushions, but the formula doesn’t clog pores or cause breakouts. This cushion also noticeably brightens your skin. If you prefer a matte finish, it works well when set with powder. It lasts without touch-ups for about 5 – 6 hours, but doesn’t flake or clump if you need to retouch it throughout the day. I have finally gotten my hands on this April Skin cushion. Everyone was talking about their Magic Snow Cushions, both in white and black, but I wasn’t sure if I really wanted to try it, hence I didn’t get it. But my curiosity was killing me so I asked BBcosmetic to send me one to try out. *This cushion is mentioned in my huge cushion comparison, pt 2. Note Comparison video review with the new version is right here. Packaging The box is matte black with white letters and black glossy letters on the “background” which just say April Skin Magic Snow Cushion. There’s almost nothing in English, the information, ingredients and directions are all in Korean. On top of the box, there’s the name and the shade. The back has some basic information. Left side has ingredients on it and right side has some directions. The case of the cushion is pure black with white letters. The top of the case is slightly bigger in diameter than the bottom which makes it basically impossible to stand, it just keeps falling back. The sticker that’s covering the sponge is a little different, on the bottom side it has second layer so no stickiness touches the sponge. The sponge is white at first, not soaked with the product. Once you press in, it immediately soaks through. It’s a little dome shaped and I found that a tiny bit of the product gets on the plastic part that’s covering it. Also I feel like it’s a little different sponge than the regular ones with more pores? Not sure, maybe it’s like it just because it’s white and not soaked. The puff isn’t blue as classic air puffs, but white. It’s very bouncy, like very very bouncy and soft. I guess it makes the product blend more easily. Product There are 3 shades available 21 Light Beige, 22 Pink Beige, 23 Natural Beige. I got the shade 22 Pink Beige and it suits pretty well, although I could get the 21. But even though it’s supposed to be pink based, I found that it’s a little bit orange at first but turns into very wearable shade for me I have neutral to slight cool undertone and blends into my neck perfectly. The shade reminds me a tiny bit of my Double Lasting Foundation but not as dark. Also it doesn’t oxidize on me. It has SPF50+ PA+++ = perfection. Tho I still use my lovely sunscreen with SPF50+ PA+++ as well, just to be sure. The coverage is amazing. It has medium to high, definitely buildable. But it doesn’t feel too heavy. I didn’t have to use any concealer other than under my eyes which is very rare when I have some pimples. The finish is almost powdery. It creates dry patches around pimples. Even tho it does create dry patches, there’s no dry feeling which I have when wearing Double Lasting Foundation. It doesn’t crease as much as other cushions I have tried but with time, it starts setting into fine and smile lines. It does not emphasizes pores! Finally some cushion! It transfers only a little, no big deal. The lasting ability is better than regular cushions, it lasts for about 6 hours. After 8 hours I couldn’t wait to take it off because it looked so oily and was easily rubbed or smeared off. So definitely set with powder even during the day! Even though it stays on for 6 hours, I’d say it needs some touch ups even during the 6 hours. It started bulking up around my chin into small dots like… an hour and half after application? After around three and half hours it started separating around my nose and chin due to the sebum. Seems like every single foundation will do this. After the 8 hours, it bulked up into small dots basically everywhere. Mainly around the bridge of the nose, between my brows and on my chin. Also it kind of disappeared from the bridge of my nose? Probably just moved around into the bulked part. Overall I like this cushion and enjoy wearing it even through all the downfalls. Mainly because of the coverage. And also the longevity isn’t as bad if you powder it throughout the day. Now I’m not sure to who I should recommend this. It would be absolutely perfect for normal skin types. Oily skin types can make this work as well, just blot the sebum. For dry skin types, I’d recommend using a good moisturizer because of the patches or just buy the white version, it’s way more moisturizing. So I guess everyone can use this if you have the right attitude to it. Either way I say try it. This coverage is quite rare for cushions. Ithelps the foundation adhere better to your skin. The texture of the April Skin Magic Snow Cushion is quite high coverage, so just 1 dab gets me very far in terms of coverage. However, I don’t know about others, I find the coverage a little uneven. I attribute it to the sponge, which isn’t as rubbery as I like.

Anyone still here for Day 6 of Cushion Foundation Week 2 The K-Beauty Edition? Let’s hear you! Oh yes, we have T-1 more to go before we’re done! Go here to see what’s been featured so far. Naturally, I will not have ALL the brands in the market for this head to head comparisons – Korean brands aren’t all that generous at providing samples, unlike the Western brands I worked with before this – but I have enough to take you through 7 yes, count that SEVEN days of Cushion Foundations. This time, we will have a whole WEEK of cushions and then on Day 8 if I have not yet collapsed from exhaustion, I’ll give you a round up, and on Day 9 Yes, I’ve thought this through I’ll do you a quick comparison of Korean vs Western brand cushions based on what I’ve tested so far. Whew! There’s a lot to get through so, fasten your seatbelts, here we go! When I did my first round of Cushion Foundation Week, I was told by so many people that I had to a please try all the Korean cushions what? sponsor me? 😛 and b please try this April Skin Magic Snow Cushion SPF50+ PA+++ because this one was THE BEST IN THE MARKET! I raised a sceptical brow. You know me right? I couldn’t resist the challenge 😀 But when momentum gathered for Cushion Foundation Week 2 the K-Beauty Edition, and I had a missing slot, I hunted around online for a site to buy this one to try, that wouldn’t scalp me and that I didn’t have to wait till I was 80 before it got here. Happily I found it on a local website Hermo and now I know what you’re wondering. Is this April Skin Magic Snow Cushion deserving of all the manic raves out there? Is this truly THE BEST CUSHION?! Now, I don’t know anything about April Skin as a brand. All I know is that people rave about their cushion foundations, which come in different coloured cases to distinguish the different types available. I naturally had no idea which to pick, so I just took a wild stab in the dark – hur hur 😛 I picked the black case because it looked different from the rest of the white cases out there. It stood out. Oh, and apparently, April Skin cushions are so popular that there are fakes in the market. WHAT?! People are sick. So, buy from a trusted source, or as you will see below, perhaps you don’t really need this one. Ooh, spoiler! LOL! 😀 The April Skin Magic Snow Cushion in the black case is supposed to offer high coverage, be moisturising, have high sunscreen protection and be comfortable to wear. Let’s see how it fares! Sunscreen protection SPF50+ PA+++ I’m not sure why I kept this section in, because all Korean Cushion foundations come with high SPF rating. That said, if you’re using a cushion foundation in place of sunscreen, come, let me smack you 😛 However, what is good about cushion foundations, is their portability and lightweight texture, like this one, so you can use it as a touch up for your sunscreen through the day, or to touch up your makeup in the afternoons after it’s faded off a little. The lightweight texture feels comfortable, and the light-medium coverage means you can boost your base makeup, if you have to, for the evenings. As I’ve noted, many Korean brand cushion foundations use zinc oxide and titanium dioxide in their ingredients which are physical UV blockers. These are my preferred choice of UV protection and I’m happy to see them in this one as well. However, due to the coverage of this particular cushion, I don’t think you’d be touching up very much. The Packaging & Refills It bugs me, because the product is just 15g as with all Korean cushion foundations but you do not get refills with your purchase. All you get is a case with the refill clipped in. You can buy the refills separately, but again, due to the warning about fake products out there, be sure you buy from a trusted source. This reminds me of Innisfree who also doesn’t sell their cushions with refills, and the perceived notion of affordability goes out the door. Once you add in the refill, it pretty much brings it to the price of a higher end cushion foundation. To be honest, I’d much rather go there. The compact is well made and fairly sturdy, and based on the brands I have, no other refill fits. It has the donut ring type of case with a cover. While the black matte cover looks sleek, it is also a dirt magnet. Every smudge shows up, which, if you are OCD, will bug you like crazy! I just wipe it down occasionally, but I don’t pick this up often ooh! 2nd spoiler! 😛 The Cushion Hmm… Ok, this isn’t your traditional cushion foundation cushion sponge. The cushion itself does not come saturated to the surface, and when new, this is what you see. It reminds me a lot of the Bobbi Brown Cushion Foundation, and I have a sneaky feeling, BB might have drawn inspiration from this one. The surface of the cushion feels a little loose and puffy and looks a bit domed. April Skin says that this is because the foundation is sandwiched between 2 cushions in the compact. When you depress the sponge puff on the surface, you will see the foundation ooze through the top layer. Whether you like it depends on how much a stickler you are for things looking neat and tidy. I do find that the product is quite close to the surface so only very little pressure is needed to get the product through the very porous sponge and onto your puff. So be gentle, because you will find that you only need very little product. Also worth noting is that because the sponge is a little domed, you will find product transfer onto the plastic cover. Not for fussy people. The Sponge Puff Again, this was a category I kept in from the previous Cushion Foundation Week series, and I’m not sure why, because the Koreans know their sponge puff applicators! This April Skin one is no exception. I will tell you right here right now, that for best effect, ALWAYS USE THE SPONGE PUFF! The puff is a beige, and you can see at back how the cushion surface is now stained with the product, but only in places where I depress. Other parts remain white. The sponge itself feels a little soft, and I do find that it absorbs product a little more readily. There isn’t that rubbery density on the surface that I’d gotten used to with other brands. TO USE Slip your fingers through the loop it only accommodates 3 fingers for me so I find it a little small, dab the sponge on the surface of the cushion you can see this is just 1 dab and then dab it on your skin, in a press and roll motion. Press on skin, and roll it off. It helps the foundation adhere better to your skin. The texture of the April Skin Magic Snow Cushion is quite high coverage, so just 1 dab gets me very far in terms of coverage. However, I don’t know about others, I find the coverage a little uneven. I attribute it to the sponge, which isn’t as rubbery as I like. I swapped out a Laneige sponge and it actually applied better! Texture, Coverage & Finish What April Skin has going for them is high coverage. If you are used to cushion foundations or BB cushions call them what you will, they’re the same thing to my mind being sheer and not doing much, then you will find that April Skin disproves that notion. In this black one anyway. I found that the coverage is very high. Higher in fact, than either Hera or Mamonde, with just 1 pat. However, because I’d tried the other 2 first, I wasn’t so enamoured with the high coverage of April Skin. If I hadn’t experienced other high coverage cushions, I might have been more impressed. The difference between this and Hera or Mamonde is that I found I couldn’t sheer this April Skin one out very much. No matter how I try, the coverage is very high. I definitely needed no concealer with this. But I did use some powder to set, as the texture felt a little tacky on skin. Let me show you the before-after pictures where I am wearing the April Skin Magic Snow Cushion in 21. The coverage is crazy right?! Super high, and this was a fairly light hand that I used. However, you may feel and you would be right to feel this that the shade looks a little off. This is because I noticed that the April Skin Magic Cover Cushion shade pulls with a pink base. Not a bad thing, because pink bases are usually more brightening, and they work for me. My visage does look brighter. But for the majority of people who wear warmer bases, this can make your skin look artificial and ashy. If you click back to the Mamonde Cover Powder Cushion review, just to see the coverage, you may appreciate the shade difference. However, you may also notice that the Mamonde has a more matte effect, while this April Skin cushion has a bit more glow to it. It doesn’t look very shiny, but there is a bit more glow, which prevents this from looking cakey. I did find this to be long lasting, without turning oily or drying my skin, even after me being out in the heat and humidity for the most part of the day. If you want a high coverage cushion foundation with a brightening effect then this one would be one you might like. Shade selection Like most Korean-based brands, the shade selection is fairly poor at this point in time. There are 3 shades available 17, 21 and 23 for very light, light and light medium skintones. To be honest, I feel that it barely works for anyone with a medium skintone if 21 is anything to go by. It might look too light. Scent Yes, there is a floral scent that is quite strong and I don’t like the scent because it smells a little musty to me. It doesn’t linger on skin, but opening the compact wafts a strong sweet scent right in your face. If you’re sensitive to fragrance in skin products then be wary. Do I like this? I’m on the fence with this one as well. I appreciate why many people love this. The coverage is nothing short of amazing for the convenience, and it lasts well on the skin. However, I don’t like the way the cushion is constructed, nor the fact it does not come with a refill, which makes this pricier than usual. Also, it enjoys a cult status, that might explain the popularity. In terms of product performance however, I prefer Hera because it makes me look like my skin but better. This makes me look like I have foundation on, and doesn’t allow my skin to show through, blemishes and all. It isn’t as cakey as Mamonde but the shade selection is a little strange. So, I’d say it’s a decent cushion foundation. But it’s not my No. 1 pick – sorry peeps! I know some of you love this one! IN A NUTSHELL The April Skin Magic Snow Cushion Mamonde Cover Powder Cushion SPF50+ PA+++ is very popular, and offers high coverage and skin brightening effects. The compact is well constructed, but the product does not come with a refill and that makes it a little pricier than I’d expect for a product like this. The shade selection is very small, tending to the lighter end of the skintone spectrum, but the coverage is impressive. While I’m not crazy about it as I do have my preferences in other brands I can understand the raves. I do feel however, that there are better products out there so the craze isn’t quite justified. Just me!
